About Us

Yate is situated at the southern end of the Cotswold Escarpment and dates from the Saxon period. The railway station opened in 1844 and Station Road has been its traditional centre ever since.

The Railway Hotel has been a central focus of the town’s day to day life – it had a thriving lunch trade for workers from the Parnalls Aircraft Factory and there were also weekly livestock and produce markets.

The Hotel was bought in 2004 and has had nearly half a million pounds invested into it to restore the decaying fabric of the building to its former glory. This includes new kitchens and restaurant and refurbishment of the bedroom accommodation.
